Rex Allen Jr.

Perhaps no singer today has a better ability to perform all types of country/western music, the old and the new, than super song star Rex Allen Jr.! Rex is that rare performer who possesses the extraordinary ability to excel in all three phases of the entertainment business: singing/acting/entertaining. Blessed with a golden voice and a true dedication to his music nd career, Rex is the consummate singer/actor/entertainer. He proves this on each and every concert and each and every television show. Rex grew up in a California show business family, majored in Theater Arts in college and went to MGM actors school. Upon moving to Nashville, Rex was signed first at Plantation Records, then to JIMI Records where label mate Don Williams career was launched. 

According to Rex, “Don had a great influence on my song writing. The advice he gave me then has stayed with me throughout my career.” Rex went on to become a suc-cessful recording artist for Warner Brothers with a steady flow of Top-40 singles including: “Lonely Street” “No No No” and “It’s Over.” Rex was hon-ored by having his song “Arizona” adopted as the official song of that state in 1982. Rex pursued other facets of of his career by co-hosting with Jim Stafford the pop-ular “Nashville On The Road” TV show. In 1992, his old friends, the Statler Brothers, called and offered him a regular slot on their Saturday night show. Due to the show’s success, Rex was offered his own show, “Yesteryear” which became the #2 rated show on The Nashville Network.
